Important notice
Please note on Saturday 7 June, last entry to The Vyne will be at 3pm, the cafe and shop will close at 3.30pm and the property will close at 4pm ahead of an evening event.

located inside the house and subject to house opening times.
- Car park
During wet weather the grass overflow has to close and cars park on hard standing. We then usually need several days of warm weather to dry the overflow out before reopening it.
- Dogs allowed
On a short lead, not allowed in house, servery, first floor of tearoom or the play area. In walled garden, must be on short lead and on main path as we grow food. Allowed in ground-floor seating area of the tea-room. With min two people in your group, one can sit with the dog while the other orders. Assistance dogs welcome across the site.

Please be aware of deep water by the main bridge. Paths in the grounds are uneven at times. Woodland paths are difficult to navigate due to tree roots. Accessible toilets are located at the tea-room which is 1,200m from the car park.

- Steps/uneven terrain
Access to first floor in the house is via a staircase only and this has no handrail. In the woods the paths have tree roots coming across them in places and can get very muddy.

Parking: Parking is free. There is a 1/3 mile walk between visitor reception and the house. Blue badge parking is available. All parking is on hard standing.
Sat Nav: Will not take you to the main car park, instead follow National Trust brown signs and reach the visitor car park off Morgaston Road.

Basingstoke 4 miles - taxi rank available outside of train station. Bramley 2½ miles - requires a walk of 2½ miles from this station. Note: Vyne Road has no foot paths.

House
Nationally recognised house, pre-Reformation chapel with stained-glass windows, Tudor Oak Gallery, Neo-classical staircase hall and a 17th-century sketch by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri.
Garden
Lime Avenue leading to a 17th-century summerhouse and 600-year-old oak tree plus a walled garden and orchard. Lakeside path offers views of the house.
Woodland
Sprawling ancient woodland and a bird hide that overlooks the wetlands. Accessed via the gardens. In winter, wellies are a must. Please note Beech Ride is currently closed but the wider woodlands remain open to explore.
Eating and shopping
The Brewhouse tea-room serves light refreshments. The gift shop stocks highlights from National Trust ranges alongside locally sourced goods.

Tudor Oak Gallery safeguarded at The Vyne
The most highly decorated Tudor gallery in Europe, visited by King Henry VIII and two of his wives, has been safeguarded for the future after months of conservation work. For the first time, visitors to The Vyne in Hampshire can experience the full glory of this 82 foot long space, covered from floor to ceiling in beautifully carved heraldic panels.

Sunday 13 July, 11am-3pm: In the old kitchen in the house, catch live lace-making demonstrations by experts. Feast your eyes on the intricate detail of delicate lace work before having a go yourself.
About The Vyne
Once an important Tudor palace, this atmospheric mansion has some illustrious connections, from Henry VIII to Jane Austen. Outside, acres of wildlife-rich gardens, meadows and woods create a wonderful space for relaxation and exploration, while the natural play space gives children freedom to let their imaginations take them on fantasy adventures. Sweeping lawns offer lakeside picnicking, and a short stroll reveals a cosy bird hide overlooking the water meadows.
